Green Ship
All-electric ferry set sail for new route of Kaohsiung and Warehouse No. 2: Qifu I
Warehouse-Qijin Route adopts the first electric ferry “Qifu I” in Asia, is designed and manufactured in a Kaohsiung local shipyard, a smooth, steady and comfortable green vessel with low noise and no fuel burning smell.
The total length of the ferry is 25.2 meters, with a capacity of 150 passengers, 46 motorcycles, and uses the original factory electromechanical equipment of BAUMUELLER in Germany. It has 80 batteries, with an average cruising speed of 6 knots, which can run for 4 hours continuously. The solar energy and energy storage system is also installed at the Qijin Gushan Ferry Station to save the daytime solar power for use at night, greatly reduced the dependence on the city power system and effectively unleashed the excellent benefits of on-site utilization of green energy generation.
At present, the Kaohsiung City Government has connected the Pier-2 Art Center, Qijin and Hamaxing Tourist Circle, so that the tourist crowds of Warehouse No. 2 can travel directly to Qijin, and the Kaohsiung City Shipping Company has added a route from Warehouse NO. 2 to Qijin that is able to improve the tourism and business activities for three areas of Warehouse No. 2, Qijin and Hamaxing effectively.
