Ship Equipment
Ship Maneuvering Simulator System
The system integrates a ship motion calculation program, radar simulation and electronic sea chart systems, and utilizes virtual reality and a Stewart Platform Based Manipulator. It is the first locally made simulation training platform for large-scale ships in Taiwan and can carry out simulations of instant ship control and maneuvering.
The system simulates dynamic movement and maritime navigation, brings vessels in and out of harbors, and docks them at piers. This includes different types of vessel such as yachts, patrol boats, container ships, oil tankers, bulk cargo vessels and naval ships. It can interact with multiple computers to simulate a fleet. In addition, the program can be utilized to train crews in collision prevention response, to enhance the ability to manage crises, and improve user reaction to multi-person ship maneuvering simulation that includes training in the response to a range of different scenarios.
